Este modelo me ha demandado bastante trabajo. Se trata del viejo kit de Revell de los años '60. Con piezas casi sin detalle, malos encastres y elementos fuera de escala e incorrectos. La mayor parte del kit hubo que redetallarlo, incluso algunas piezas fueron reconstruidas desde cero. Para completarlo utilicé el set de fotograbados para acorazados norteamericanos de Gold Medal Models.
This model has required a lot of work. This is the old Revell kit from the 60s. With poor detailed parts, poor assembly and out of scale and wrong elements. I had to re-detail most of the kit, even some parts were rebuilt from scratch. I used to improve it the US battleships PE set from Gold Medal Models.

En las ssiguientes imágenes se encuentran los primeros pasos del armado. Opté por la versión waterline del modelo, teniendo que detallar el casco el cual además presentaba problemas de encastre entre las bandas y la cubierta. Además, toda la zona del puente fue prácticamente reconstruida al igual que la chimenea.
In the following images you can see the first steps of the assembly. I chose the waterline version of the model, having to detail the hull which also presented fit problems between the sides and the deck. In addition, the bridge area and funnel were rebuilt.
Lo que sigue son imágenes del trabajo más avanzado. Se detallaron las torretas principales y se construyeron numerosas piezas en scratch, como el armamento secundario, las grúas y los mástiles trípodes. Además con el set de GMM se realizaron las catapultas de los hidroaviones, las vergas, la grúa de proa y otras piezas. El Kingfisher corresponde al kit del South Dakota de Hasegawa.
What follows are images of more advanced work. The main guns towers were detailed and numerous pieces were built from scratch, as the secondary armament, cranes, and tripod masts. In addition the catapults, yardarms, bow crane and other parts were made with the set from GMM. The Kingfisher corresponds to the South Dakota from Hasegawa.

Para la pintura final del modelo, escogí el esquema que presentaba el buque en el momento del ataque a Pearl Harbor, en el cual resultó hundido, luego se desgastó con óleos.
For the final painting of the model, I chose the scheme presented by the ship at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor, in which she was sunk, and weathered with oils.
