En este artículo les mostramos el desarrollo del armado del Crucero A.R.A. Belgrano en scratch, en escala 1:400. El material utilizado fue básicamente plástico de alto impacto, a excepción de la cubierta que fue revestida en madera. Otros materiales utilizados fueron alambres, clips metálicos y todo aquello que pueda ser útil... Para la construcción se utilizaron planos del USS Helena (crucero clase Brooklyn, como el Belgrano), adaptándolos a las modificaciones que requería este modelo en especial.
In this article we show you the building of the A.R.A. Belgrano Light Cruiser, in 1:400 scale. The used material was basically evergreen sheets, except the deck that was made out of wood. Other used materials were wires, metallic paper clips and everything that can be useful... For the building planes of USS Helena were used (Brooklyn class light cruiser, as the Belgrano), adapting to the modifications that this model was needing especially.

En las imágenes que siguen se muestran los primeros pasos en la construcción, en primer lugar el casco construido. Luego el comienzo del trabajo en las superestructuras, un detalle del puente de mando y las primeras piezas presentadas sobre la nave.
In the following images show the first steps in the construction, the first one shows the hull. Then the beginning of the work in the superstructures, a detail of the bridge and the first pieces presented on the ship.
A continuación podemos ver las primeras piezas ya terminadas, como por ejemplo las torretas, chimeneas y otros componentes de las superestructuras. También se observan las mismas presentadas en el buque al cual se le han añadido detalles en cubierta, a esta altura ya con las protecciones de los cañones secundarios y antiaéreos finalizadas.
Now we can see the first pieces already finished, as for example the turrets, funnels and other components of the superstructures. Also we see the pieces presented in the ship and other details added in the deck, at this time with the protections of the secondary and anti-aircraft guns finished.
Ya algo más avanzados en el armado, vemos ahora las estructuras de los directores de tiro de popa y proa finalizados. Asimismo, la plataforma de los reflectores y la grua y, por último la totalidad del armamento secundario y antiaéreo.
Now more advanced in the building, we see the structures of the stern and bow fire controls finished. Also, the platform of the searchlights and the crane and, finally, the totality of the secondary and anti-aircraft armament.

Painting
Comienza ahora el trabajo de pintura. Para ello se utilizó Light Grey (64) de Humbrol. Para desgastar la madera de cubierta se utilizó betún de judea bien diluido. También se construyó la base, presentado el buque en la misma y dando una idea del que será el resultado final. El trabajo de desgastes realizado fue muy limitado dado que la totalidad del material de referencia consultado mostraba al Belgrano en buen estado de conservación general, por lo que se optó solo por realizar óxido bajo el ancla y algunos chorreones a lo largo de las bandas. También pueden ver el Alouette III ya pintado y colocado en su lugar.
Begins now the painting work. For it Humbrol's Light Grey (64) was used. To wearing the wood of the deck were used very diluted bitumen of judea. Also the base was constructed, and the ship in the same one to give an idea of how will be the final result. The weathering work was very limited because the totality of the consulted reference material showing the Belgrano in general good state of conservation, so was chosen to realize rust only under the anchor and some drippings along the bands. Also you can see the Alouette III already painted and placed in its place.
