Si bien la marca que comercializa este kit es Trumpeter, no se trata más que de una copia del clásico de Tamiya. A punto tal que sólo han cambiado el logo de la marca quedando el arte de caja, las instrucciones de armado y los árboles que componen el modelo exactamente igual a su original. Por lo cual bien se podría decir que es la maqueta de Tamiya la que construiré. El modelo me lo obsequió unos diez años atrás mi amigo y excelente modelista Christian Laurenzi, luego de desistir de continuarlo. Habiendo adquirido algunos productos de aftermarket, ha llegado la hora de armarlo.

Although the brand that sells this kit is Trumpeter, this is nothing more than a copy of the Tamiya's classic. To the point that only the logo of the brand has changed, leaving the box art, the assembly instructions and the sprues that contain the model exactly the same as its original. Therefore it could well be said that it's the Tamiya's kit that I will build. The model was given to me about ten years ago by my friend and excellent modeler Christian Laurenzi, after giving up to continuing it. Having acquired some aftermarket products, the time to assemble it has come.

Como dije más arriba, he adquirido algunos productos para mejorar el modelo. Entre ellos los sets de fotograbados de White Ensing Models que contienen el armamento anti-aéreo, los carretes de mangueras y los ojos de buey y puertas. Todo ello para completar el set de Tom's Modelworks específico para este buque. Asimismo, compré las cubiertas de madera.
Debido a los años que estuvo guardado, el kit acumuló bastante suciedad, por lo que antes de echar manos a la obra lo que hice fue limpiarlo por completo, utilizando limpia hornos para los árboles y las piezas previamente ensambladas por Christian y agua con detergente para el caso y cubierta.
Mi amigo ya había construido las torretas principales y algunas superestructuras, entre ellas toda la zona del puente y chimenea, ello me ahorró tiempo y trabajo, pasando directamente al detallado de estos componentes. La mayor dedicación fue para el puente, que debí reconstruir dada la incorrecta forma del original. Por otro lado, me encontré con que faltaban dos de las torretas secundarias del buque, las que debí realizar en scratch, tomando como referencia las originales del kit.
Teniendo ya casi listas estas piezas, continuaré más adelante con los hangares y superestructuras de popa.

As I said above, I have purchased some products to improve the model. Among them are the White Ensing Models photoetched sets that contain anti-aircraft armament, cable reels and portholes and doors. All this to complete the set from Tom's Modelworks specific to this vessel. I also bought the wooden decks.
Due to the years it was stored, the kit accumulated a lot of dirt, so before putting to work what I did was to clean it completely, using furnace cleaner for the sprues and parts previously assembled by Christian and water with detergent for the hull and deck.
My friend had already built the main turrets and some superstructures, including the entire bridge area and funnel, it saved me time and work, going directly to the detailing of these components. The greatest dedication was to the bridge, which I had to rebuild due to the incorrect shape of the original. On the other hand, I realized that two of the secondary turrets of the ship were missing, so I had to build them from scratch, taking as reference the originals of the kit.
Having these pieces almost ready, I will continue later with the hangars and stern superstructures.
