A continuación las imágenes de las nuevas piezas construídas. En este caso, las torres de los cañones principales (para los cuales aproveché los sobrantes del Hood 1:700 de Tamiya, cuya medida da perfecto), el puente de mando, la plataforma del telémetro a popa, el mástil proel y la chimenea, para la cual utilicé además de plástico de alto impacto, foamboard y Putty de Tamiya, de la misma forma que lo hice con la proa y popa.

Below the images of the new pieces built. This time, the main guns turrets (for which I used the Tamiya's 1:700 Hood barrels, that fits correctly), the main bridge, the aft rangefinder, the forward mast and the funnel, for which I used plasticard, Foamboard and Tamiya's Putty, in the same way I did with the bow and stern.

Retomando el proyecto luego de la inactividad a raíz del trabajo en el nuevo diseño de la página y de un viaje (más las fiestas de fin de año)... Lo hecho estos días fue construir los directores de tiro que se ubican sobre el puente de mando y el mástil de proa, así como algunos detalles sobre la cubierta y el mástil principal. A partir de ahora queda construir algunas piezas que irán sobre las cubiertas y luego comenzaré con el armamento secundario.

Returning to the project after the inactivity because of the work in the new design of the site and a trip (plus the New Year holidays)... What I have done these days was to build the main guns directors that are located on the bridge and on the forward mast, as well as some details on the deck and the aft mast. From now on, I will build some parts for the decks and then I will start with the secondary guns.

Lo que sigue son imágenes de los primeros trabajos de detallado de la maqueta. Algunas partes las he realizado desde cero y en otras ocasiones utilicé sobrantes de diversos kits. Además comencé con el agregado de los fotograbados, con barandillas de North Star Models. Poco a poco el buque va tomando su aspecto final. En adelante seguiré avanzando con el detallado y pronto empezaré la construcción del armamento secundario y los botes y lanchas que portaba la nave. Luego de eso vendrá la pintura.

What follows are images of the beginning of the detailing of the model. I have made some parts from scratch and others from kitbashing. I also started with the addition of photoetched parts, with rails from North Star Models. Slowly the ship is taking her final appearance. Now I will continue advancing with the detailing and soon begin the construction of the secondary armament and the boats that carried the ship. After that, the painting will come.

Estos son los últimos pasos en la construcción del modelo. Realicé el armamento secundario, los botes y lanchas, el hidroavión y completé el detallado del buque. ¡Ahora está listo para pintura!.

Una vez terminada la construcción del modelo procedí a aplicar una mano de primer para detectar posibles defectos y emparejar la superficie antes de dar la pintura definitiva. Se utilizaron principalmente acrílicos Tamiya y esmaltes Humbrol, para dar luego los desgastes a base óleos, siendo las calcas de confección casera.

Once the construction of the model was finished I proceeded to apply a primer coat to detect possible defects and to match the surface before giving the final painting. I used mainly Tamiya acrylics and Humbrol enamels, to then make the wear with oils and apply the homemade decals.
