La corbeta clase Flower ARA República (ex HMS Smilax) prestó servicio en la Armada Argentina entre los años 1949 y 1964. Para construir el modelo utilicé el kit de Mirage de la HMS Pennywort, realizando las modificaciones necesarias para asemejar el modelo con el buque original. Los principales cambios fueron en el puente de mando y las superestructuras de popa. El detallado está realizado con los fotograbados que contiene el kit y sobrantes de otros sets. Para la pintura hice uso de acrilícos Tamiya para el casco y superestructuras y esmaltes Humbrol para las cubiertas, realizando además las calcas en forma casera y los desgastes a base de óleos.

The Flower class corvette ARA Republica (former HMS Smilax) served in the Argentine Navy between 1949 and 1964. To build the model I used the kit of the HMS Pennywort from Mirage, making the necessary modifications to match the model with the original ship. The main changes were in the bridge and the stern superstructures. The detailed was made with the photoetched parts that the kit contains and leftovers from other sets. For the painting I used Tamiya acrylics for the hull and superstructures and Humbrol enamels for the decks, with homemade decals and oil paintings for the weathering.
