Nuevamente echando mano de un kit 3D para construir un modelo de la Armada Argentina. En esta ocasión la corbeta clase Meko 140 ARA Gomez Roca, última de su tipo en ser incorporada en el año 2004. Como en el caso de los modelos del ARA Sarandí y del ARA Drummond, este kit presenta buen nivel de impresión, con fidelidad de detalles y dimensiones. De la misma forma que con los anteriores utilizaré fotograbados varios tanto para su detallado como para la construcción o reemplazo de diferentes piezas. Esta vez representaré al buque amarrado a un muelle en lugar de hacerlo navegando como acostumbro.
Again using a 3D kit to build a model of the Argentine Navy. On this occasion, the ARA Gomez Roca, a Meko 140 class corvette, the last of its kind to be incorporated in 2004. As in the case of the ARA Sarandí and ARA Drummond models, this kit presents a good level of impression, with fidelity of details and dimensions. In the same way as with the previous ones, I will use various photo-etched parts both for its detailing and for the construction or replacement of different pieces. This time I will represent the ship moored to a dock instead of sailing as I usually do.

En las fotos que siguen podemos ver el kit tal como viene impreso y con las diversas partes presentadas sobre el mismo, luego de separarlas de sus soportes. También, los primeros pasos del detallado, con el agregado de barandillas, escaleras y otros componentes en fotograbado. Una modificación que debí realizar es cortar y separar la estructura sobre la que se monta la antena de radar, entre las chimeneas, para asemejarlo al original. Por último, comencé con la construcción de la base y la representación del muelle.
In the photos that follow we can see the kit as it comes printed and with the various parts dry fitted on it, after separating them from their supports. Also, the first steps of detailing, with the addition of railings, stairs and other components in photo-etched parts. One modification that I had to make is to cut and separate the structure on which the radar antenna is mounted, between the funnels, to resemble the original. Finally, I started with the construction of the base and the representation of the pier.

Ahora más avances en el detallado del buque. Como ocurrió en otras construcciones similares a esta, eché mano de diversos fotograbados que tenía en mi poder para realizar esta tarea, como dije más arriba. Principalmente lo que hice fue construir un nuevo radar y modificar el mástil principal donde era necesario y así acercarlo lo más posible a la corbeta real. Lo mismo se hizo con el hangar plegable, detallándolo. Luego, adapté muchas piezas de fotograbados para poder representar varias partes del barco y dar mayor realismo al modelo. Decidí agregar, además, un segundo integrante al diorama, para ello construí completamente en scratch el ARA Punta Mogotes, una patrullera clase Point de la Armada Argentina, operativa en Mar del Plata. Avancé, en simultáneo, sobre el pintado y decorado de la base, que representa un sector de la dársena de submarinos de la BNMDP.
Now more progress in the detailing of the ship. As happened in other buildings similar to this one, I made use of various photo-etched parts that I had to carry out this task, as I said before. Mainly what I did was build a new radar and modify the main mast where necessary to match it as closely as possible to the actual corvette. The same was done with the folding hangar, detailing it. Then, I adapted many pieces of photo-etched parts to represent various parts of the ship and thus obtain greater realism in the model. I also decided to add a second component to the diorama, for this I completely scratch built the ARA Punta Mogotes, a Point class patrol boat of the Argentine Navy, operational in Mar del Plata. I advanced, simultaneously, on the painting and decoration of the base, which represents a sector of the BNMDP submarine dock.

Finalmente procedí a la pintura del modelo, en este caso dos buques. En primer lugar apliqué imprimante One Shot de AMMO para luego dar paso a la pintura utilizando colores poliuretánicos de "El Ogro", firma que también me facilitó los vehículos impresos en 3D que decidí agregar para dar más complejidad a la escena. Además, agregué figuras de fotograbados de Tom's Modeworks. Para los numerales de los buques utilicé calcas de Hawk Graphics / The Resin Shipyard.
Finally I proceeded to paint the model, in this case two ships. First, I applied One Shot primer from AMMO and then gave way to painting using polyurethane colors from "El Ogro", a company that also provided me with the 3D printed vehicles that I decided to add to give more complexity to the scene. Additionally, I added photo-etched figures from Tom's Modeworks. For the ship numbers I used decals from Hawk Graphics / The Resin Shipyard.
